SWBOCES Communications Team Receives 11 National School P.R. Awards

The school communications team at the Southern Westchester BOCES Office of Public Information won a record 11  awards in the National School Public Relations Association’s 2021 Publications and Digital Media Excellence Awards.

The recognition by the country's preeminent organization of school communications professionals includes five Awards of Excellence, the top honor, with four of those coming in the category of Excellence in Writing. 

Public Relations Specialists Natalia Baage-Lord, Cara Matthews and Alicia Smith won two three NSPRA awards apiece, and Director of Communications Brian Howard two. 

“We are a true, collaborative team of school communications professionals, and we are dedicated to students first and to the SWBOCES mission in support of our component school districts,” Mr. Howard said. “I am appreciative of our NSPRA member peers for their recognition of our efforts to showcase the important work and achievements of students and educators in the Southern Westchester region.”

NSPRA is the leader in school communication with a mission to advance education through responsible communication. NSPRA’s Publications and Digital Media Awards recognize outstanding education publications and marketing/informational materials (print and electronic), video/TV/radio programs, social media and websites. The submissions are adjudicated by veteran educational communications professionals across the country who have long-standing expertise in the categories they judge.
