Statewide School PR Association honors SWBOCES Communications Team with four awards

 NYSPRA logoThe School Communications team at Southern Westchester BOCES was honored with four awards in the New York School Public Relations Association's 42nd Annual Communications Contest. 

The NYSPRA awards announced Oct. 25, 2021, include two Awards of Excellence won by Public Relations Specialist Natalia Baage for her work in support of the Valhalla Union Free School District. The Award of Excellence is the NYSPRA competition's highest honor. Ms. Baage was honored for the Valhalla Voyages 2020-2021 Community Newsletter and for the Valhalla Senior Sports Spotlights in the Social Media category.

In addition, Graphic Illustrator Jeffry Braun received an Award of Honor in the Overall Graphics and Design category for the TECH EXPO Brochure he produced for the Technology Leadership Institute's annual event. Mr. Braun also received and Award of Merit for the Ossining Union Free School District's Spring 2021 Budget Video.

"I want to thank the New York State School Public Relations Association for these honors, which are all the more gratifying coming from our colleagues and peers in judging the quality of the work we produce and the communications support we are able to consistently provide to the districts we serve. It is truly an honor for our team to be recognized in this way," stated Brian Howard, Director of Communications. 

NYSPRA is a state chapter of NSPRA, with members representing school districts, BOCES and independent PR agencies throughout New York and Canada. The organization is dedicated to the development and dissemination of educational communications that engage parents, staff, community residents, partners in education & all stakeholders. The entire SWBOCES Communications team holds memberships in both the state and national organizations.
