On Thursday, September 17, 2026, Principal Julia Dolan, Assistant Principal Kathryn Meyers, and Rochambeau Director Khali Murrell hosted a Student Mixer to kick off the new school year.

Students and staff from White Plains and SWBOCES at Rochambeau came together for a variety of collaborative activities designed to strengthen connections and foster a shared sense of community. The event began with guest speaker Andre Brown from the Innocence Project, an organization that works with individuals who have been wrongfully convicted. Mr. Brown shared his personal story and encouraged students to live by the Rochambeau ROCKS values.

Students then transitioned to the gym, where they participated in a speed-networking activity followed by interactive stations. Ice cream and music added to the festive atmosphere, while the gym was filled with laughter, engaging conversations, and a genuine sense of community.

Principal Julia Dolan noted, “We are grateful for our strong partnership with White Plains and the opportunity to bring our students and staff together to build connections and strengthen our sense of community. We look forward to continuing this collaboration throughout the school year and supporting our students as they grow, learn, and succeed.” Director Khali Murrell added, “This event was a wonderful opportunity for our students to connect and put the Rochambeau ROCKS values (Respectful, Outstanding, Community Minded, Kind and Safe) into action as one school community.”
