The Center for Career Services celebrated the induction of 74 students into the National Technical Honor Society during a ceremony at the school on May 28, 2026. The inductees represented 16 different programs across the Career Services campus.
The event was attended by members of Southern Westchester BOCES administration, teachers and family members.
“These students represent the very best of what career and technical education stands for: passion, responsibility and purpose,” said Anna Macchia, a school counselor and Career Services’ NTHS advisor. “NTHS also promotes the values that are essential for success in any career field: honesty, teamwork, initiative, leadership and citizenship.”
The National Technical Honor Society is an honor society that recognizes outstanding students receiving career and technical education. This was the 18th year the Center for Career Services has had students inducted into the NTHS.
During the ceremony, eight different students lit candles that represented the eight key attributes of the NTHS: Knowledge, Skill, Honesty, Service, Responsibility, Scholarship, Citizenship and Leadership. Afterward, the students received certificates of recognition and recited the NTHS pledge.
Director Dahlia Jackson addressed the students before the ceremony concluded.
“On behalf of Southern Westchester BOCES, I want to say how incredibly proud we are of each of you,” Ms. Jackson said. “This achievement will stay with you—not just as a line on your résumé, but as a reminder of what you’re capable of.”
