Kris Cook’s class at Rye Lake Lower Campus visited Wendy’s to practice functional life skills within the community.
During the trip, students applied their reading skills to navigate the menu, independently placed their orders, and practiced handling money when paying the cashier. They demonstrated appropriate behavior by waiting patiently in line and cleaning up their area after eating. The class enjoyed lunch together while meaningfully applying academic, communication, and social skills in a real-world setting.
