Southern Westchester BOCES honors tenure recipients, milestone employees

Administrators among 12 receiving tenure while employees with 550 combined years of service were honored

colleagues pose in front of reception roomThe Board of Education and Administration of Southern Westchester BOCES honored 12 tenure recipients and 46 employees with 10, 20, 30 or 40 years of service at a reception in Harrison Oct. 15. 

"We are very thankful for every job, every role," said Board of Education President John Filiberti. "Whatever you do at Southern Westchester BOCES, you are part of our successes. The work you do is appreciated. Thank you for everything you do!"
 
Each honoree was presented with a certificate of appreciation by District Superintendent Dr. Harold A. Coles and Deputy Superintendent Dr. Brendan Lyons and applauded by their colleagues. Dr. Lyons was among the tenure recipients, as was fellow SWBOCES Executive Team member and Executive Director of the Lower Hudson Regional Information Center, Dr. Ellen J. McDonnell.

Among those honored for their years of service were LHRIC Sr. Microcomputer Technician Raymond Ricci, at 40 years, and LHRIC Customer Service Coordinator Leslie Accardo and Teaching Assistant Hattie Chamberlain, both 30-year honorees.  
 
"We would not be SWBOCES without you," said District Superintendent Harold Coles. "There's a lot to aspire to. What makes SWBOCES what it is, is the people who work here."
