Musicians Perform for SWBOCES Students at Pocantico
Staff and students in the SWBOCES program at Pocantico Hills were pleased to welcome five musicians from the Manhattan School of Music on February 6. The School of Music students performed in honor of Black History Month. The selections included “Take the A Train,” “Moanin” and “Caravan.” After a wonderful performance, the musicians answered questions from SWBOCES students.
Imani Williams sang jazz vocals; Joseph Miller played saxophone; Christian McGhee played drums; Jahari Stampley played piano; and Destiny Diggs-Pinto played bass.
SWBOCES students made a card to give to the special visitors.
Parent Rebecca Charnow, director of community partnerships at the music school, helped organize the visit.
