The Common Core Learning Standards represent an important national effort to focus the educational system on preparing all students to be college and career ready. In this all-day, hands-on workshop, gain an understanding of the six instructional shifts and a deeper understanding of the standards, exploring the structure and language. Data Inquiry Team Training Coaching Model Data Inquiry Team training will be offered through a coaching model. Half day sessions will be offered monthly. Training will include a presentation on topics from the data driven model, followed by collaborative team time to allow districts to create their implementation and/or turn key training plan. McGuinness Named SWBOCES Director of Human Resources
Sheila McGuinness, a human resources professional with more than 30 years of experience in education and the private sector, has been named Director of Human Resources as Southern Westchester BOCES. Dr. McGuinness, a resident of Mahopac, most recently worked as a human resources consultant. She also served for 13 years as associate executive director of performance improvement at the Green Chimneys School in Brewster, a special education school that serves 200 residential students and 95 day students.
