Meet new Nursing Program Coordinator Bridget Ciliberto
Veteran nurse and classroom instructor Bridget Ciliberto found her calling at SWBOCES and has been named Practical Nursing Program Coordinator.
The SWBOCES therapeutic program at Pocantico Hills is pleased to be able to offer a new sensory space to its students. The space offers equipment that can be used for a variety of activities used in helping children with their gross motor, fine motor and balance skills. The sensory gym also provides sensory stimulation to help calm and center students. Students can engage in calming activities in the space, such as sitting in a small tent or listening to a guided meditation on a yoga mat.
Principal Jessica Walker said the new space was planned carefully with the input and advice of the program’s occupational therapist Michelle Nadal. The idea behind creating it is to have students engage in activities that will both reduce stress and enhance their ability to focus on and participate in instruction.
