In the Distributive Education Program, students learn the skills necessary to prepare them for employment in the exciting world of retailing. In a unique partnership with the world-renown Macy’s department store, students are provided with the opportunity to work on-site in Macy’s, where they learn such skills as:

  • Processing store merchandise
  • Customer relations
  • Inventory control procedures
  • Stocking merchandise on the selling floor
  • Gift wrapping and bagging
  • Cashier & money skills
  • Display assistant
  • Security
  • Retail clerk
  • Inventory clerk
  • Activities related to retail offices

Students learn the importance of work-related behavior and appearance, punctuality, social skills, and language.
