Curriculum Students who take the Automotive Collision and Refinishing Technology Program will acquire valuable experience in the repair and restoration of damaged vehicles. Geared toward the student who is detail-oriented and has a love of cars, this program exposes students to a working garage/ classroom and covers such topics as detailing, basic metal welding, mixing paints and finishes, auto body filler, sheet metal layout and sanding. The course includes lessons on safety issues and the proper use of hand and power tools. While students restore and repair automobiles, they learn to identify vehicle parts and information labels.

Students are introduced to all aspects of the auto body industry, including:

  • Shop safety
  • Detailing cars
  • Dent repairs
  • Auto body filler
  • Sanding
  • Base coat and clear coat
  • Sheet metal layout
  • Basic welding
