Air Conditioning/Refrigeration/Heating (HVAC) Veterans Approved; CareerStarters course
Intensive adult training day program in AC, Refrigeration and Heating. Designed as a pre-apprenticeship or mechanics training, students successfully completing the program will be equipped to enter the field at the apprentice level. Instruction includes: introduction to refrigeration and AC theory; identification & function of electrical components, controls, valves, compressors and evaporators; system assembly, trouble shooting, part repair and replacement; air handlers, AC systems and ice machines; heating systems theory & installation (gas & oil fired); boiler installation & repair; oil burner and heating systems trouble shooting, repair & installation. The minimum tested reading level necessary to enroll in this course is 7.0.
Eye Safety Included; Textbooks, EPA Approved Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification Exam (Core, I, II, III & Universal), Supplies and Tool Kit Included.

Prerequisite: Refrigeration & Air Conditioning 1.
Continue your training by learning basic electrical theory including low and high voltage circuits and electrical controls (starters, time clocks, contactors, thermostats, TXV’s, dryers and relays).

Refrigeration & Air Conditioning 3 Veterans Approved
Prerequisite: Refrigeration & Air Conditioning 2. Build a working refrigeration system with all electrical components and a low voltage A/C circuit board. This hands-on-training includes pipe and tubing assembly, plus instruction in cutting, flaring and soldering copper tubing.

Refrigerant Transition & Recovery Certification Veterans Approved
HVACR mechanics, prepare to be certified in the skills for recovering and recycling refrigerants. This course includes the EPA Approved Certification Exam (Core, I, II, III & Universal). If students do not pass the initial exam, they may retest for an added fee of $50, when next offered. textbook and exam fees included.

Oil Burner maintenance mechanics never get left out when it comes to getting a good job. Start with this hands-on introduction to troubleshooting, servicing and repairing oil burners. This course includes instruction on basic systems, electrical requirements, simple controls, installation applications and burner capacities. Eye Safety Included. Textbook required.
