The Office for Transition provides coordination of programs and services designed to prepare students with disabilities for a productive and meaningful adult life style. BOCES support services are provided directly to students based on each student’s IEP goals. Consultation to districts and training of district personnel are also available.

The Office for Transition and the Lower Hudson Valley Transition Center work together to provide comprehensive support and services for component and non-component districts located within Westchester. Districts in close proximity to Westchester may also be eligible for selected services.

Southern Westchester BOCES is known for its leadership in provision of transition services for thirteen counties throughout the state. This status emerged as a result of a state grant for establishing and operating the Lower Hudson Valley Transition Center. Grant funded services provided for Westchester can be coordinated with additional services purchased through the Office for Transition.
